The San Marcos Historical Society maintains an extensive collection of historical documents, photographs and audio/video materials that may be used for research by individuals and students. Researchers can access San Marcos history through books, personal stories, original newspapers, public records and our extensive photographic collection. We have over a thousand historic photographs along with countless documents on San Marcos History. Our photograph and document collections date back to the earliest settlers of the San Marcos area.

Collection strengths include: Historic photos, San Marcos and surrounding area early settlement history and Native American history. Also family, agriculture, religion, government, performing arts, politics and transportation history and some early mining information.

All documents are to be used within Heritage Park, however copies can be made for a small fee. To make an appointment to use the Research Library please contact us.
