Historic Home Tours
The Cox and Bidwell houses, built in 1888 and 1890 respectively, were moved from nearby locations to Heritage Park in 2000 and 2002. Since then, the Historical Society and hundreds of volunteers have spent countless hours restoring the homes and making them available to the public. Docent led tours provide a short history of the Twin Oaks Valley area of San Marcos, an introduction to some of the past homeowners, and what their life in San Marcos would between 1890 and 1930. The houses provide a glimpse of the past for visitors of all ages.

From time to time special collections will be on display in the houses. If you have an interesting collection that is pertinent to local history, we welcome you to host a display for 6 -8 weeks in Heritage Park.
